KILL DEVIL HILLS — Joseph C. Martone, DDS, 80, of Kill Devil Hills, NC died Monday, August 24, 2020, at The Outer Banks Hospital.
Born in Norfolk, VA on March 17, 1940, he was the son of the late Filomena Console Martone and Alexander Lum Martone.
Having served his country honorably, Joe was a veteran of the United States Navy.
After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Martone practiced dentistry in Dare County for over 45 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved sportfishing and gardening.
Dr. Martone is survived by his wife, Vickie Smith Martone; four children, Jeffrey Alexander Martone (Kelly), Lisa Martone (Trevor), Leven Stokes (Tracey), and Michael Stokes (Robyn); seven grandchildren, Megan, Amanda, and Emma Martone, Dylan Mullikin, Piper and Conner Stokes, and Riley Stokes; and two siblings, Sharon Nelson and Alexander Martone.
The family will hold a private service to celebrate his life.
