Joyce Darring Goodman, 91, passed away quietly at home last Friday evening February 17, 2023, in Nags Head, NC after a fight with heart disease and respiratory illness. She was born in South Norfolk County on September 5, 1931 to Alfred and Evelyn Burnham. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Goodman; and her sister, Shelba Reitelbach.
She is survived by daughter Mitzi Floyd; son, Dean Goodman Jr; her granddaughter, Joy Parker; and three great grandchildren, Meia Parker, Leah Goodman, and Devon Parker.
She was a fabulous woman, the best mom, a good friend to many, a loving wife to our father until he passed, and a loving partner to her boyfriend Robert for the past 26 years. She will forever be a part of us all.
