NAGS HEAD — Larry David Griffin was born August 27, 1951 (67) in Indianapolis, Indiana. On July 27, 2019, Rock and Roll Heaven gained another Rockstar as he passed away peacefully at his home in Nags Head, NC after a short bout with cancer.
After a career in the printing industry, he turned to his true passion… music. His love of music will play on in the hearts of those lives he has touched. Playing music for friends and travelers gave him great joy. His unique style of 12-string guitar made him a stand out in the Outer Banks.
He also loved fishing, coaching sports, the Redskins, his dog Ranger… and food. He passed his passion for music onto his children and grandchildren. “Grandpa Rocks”
He was proud of the legacy he built with his wife, Theresa Griffin, three children (Joshua, Erika, and Timothy), as well as four grandchildren (Hadley, Ayden, Chloe, and Elliot). His memory lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, co-workers and the Outer Banks Community.
In true Larry fashion, he left it “better than it was.”
There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, August 25th from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at The Avenue Waterfront Grille, 207 Queen Elizabeth Ave, Manteo, NC.
Twiford Funeral Home, Manteo is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences and memories can be shared at www.TwifordFH.com.
