SOUTHERN SHORES — Marilyn J. Vasilakis, 81, of Southern Shores, NC died Monday, May 17, 2021, at The Outer Banks Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Staten Island, NY on September 28, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude Isaksen Jelm and Gustave Edward Jelm.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Andrew Vasilakis; three daughters, Diana Vasilakis (Mark Cross) of Ellicott City, MD, Kristine Vasilakis of Millstone, NJ, and Monica Vasilakis of South Amboy, NJ; two grandchildren, Caleb and Natalie Cross of Ellicott City, MD; and a sister, Arlene Libutti of Larkspur, CO.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Jelm of Staten Island, NY.
The family is planning a private memorial service at a future date.
