Nova J. Butler, a long-time resident of the Currituck area died Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Peak Resources, Nags Head, NC at the age of 99.
She was born November 27, 1919 in Hart County, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, LCDR William J. Butler, Jr. in 1999.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Butler and his wife Leah of Buxton, NC with whom she lived for ten years prior to moving to assisted living and her daughter, Sherry Steklenburg, of Spokane, WA.
Nova was blessed with a great group of friends who were so faithful in visiting her regularly. She was grateful for their friendship throughout the years.
In keeping with Nova’s wishes there will be no services. In lieu of flowers anyone wishing to make a contribution in her memory may do so to the Outer Banks Community Foundation, David Aycock Loy Fund, 13 Skyline Road, Southern Shores, NC 27949.
