AVON — Reba Rae Jordan, 63, a native and lifelong resident of Avon, was called home by her Lord on Saturday, January 4, 2020, while in her home. She was born on September 6, 1956 in Buxton, NC to the late Joseph and Ruby Williams.
She was a member of the St. John United Methodist Church. Reba was a loving and devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother who never met a stranger. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to garden and always said that she never felt closer to the Lord than when she was amongst her plants. Reba had a passion for animals and was always surrounded by her beloved cats.
Reba was the loving mother of Nicole (Nick) Jackson, Kaelani Jordan (Andy), and US Coast Guard Boatswain Mate Second Class Joseph Jordan; proud grandmother to Caleb Jackson and Arabella Knutson; and cherished sister to Betty Frederick.
A celebration of Reba’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at St. John United Methodist Church in Avon at 1:00 pm, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Reba’s honor to St. John United Methodist Church, PO Box 129, Avon, NC 27915, or The American Cancer Society Relay for Life through their website benefiting Dare County.
