Richard G. Lentini passed away unexpectedly at his home in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina on December 11, 2021. Richard was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA and graduated from Norfolk Catholic High School in 1967. He then pursued a career as a carpenter and completed his apprenticeship through the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He went on to continue his carpentry career while spending 10 years as a park ranger at Yellowstone National Park.
He enjoyed working in his woodshop, surfing, floating on the river, and some of that time, fly fishing. The outdoors were always his greatest passion and a place where his spirit was free, alive, and at peace.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, and her daughters, Stephanie Melton and Angelique Pattillo; her son, Michael, his wife Cayla, and their children, Michaela, Gracen, and Jonah Lentini. Other close family surviving Richard are Zion Pattillo, Emily Moyer, and Angelika Melton.
In respect of his wishes, he will be cremated, and the family will not be holding services at this time. The family respectfully requests no gifts, flowers, or perishable items and would prefer to receive photographs of Richard and his life encounters.
“Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love”
