WANCHESE — Robert Arthur Hill, Jr., of Wanchese, NC, passed away on June 10, 2024, in Manteo, NC, one day after celebrating his 65th Birthday. He was born on June 9, 1959, in the District of Columbia to Bob Hill and the late Shirley (McCoy) Hill. He spent most of his life residing in North Canton, Ohio, graduated from Hoover High School in 1977, and was an athlete and loved to sing. Rob spent the last 5 years of his life dedicated to helping men overcome addictions at Outer Banks Dare Challenge in Wanchese, North Carolina. He loved being part of the island and living by the ocean while getting to help others.
Rob had a contagious laugh matched with a witty sense of humor and a love for bringing joy to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He loved to serve God and serve others in whatever ways he could. Rob loved making Seinfeld references, watching The Weather Channel, and keeping up with The Cleveland Browns. He loved his family deeply, had many who called him friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Rob is survived by father Bob Hill of North Canton, Ohio; daughter Jennifer (Jon) Stem of Claremore, Oklahoma; son Bobby (Kyle) Hill of Spring Lake, Michigan; daughter Rachel (Austin) Shanower of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren Josiah and Jael Stem; Sisters Karin (Mike) Heidy and Kathy Draher; as well as nieces and nephews and their families. He is preceded in death by mother Shirley (McCoy) Hill and brother-in-law David Draher.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Whole Ministries Center in Wanchese, NC on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 6:30 pm.
