MANTEO — Rodney Doyle Minton, 73, of Manteo, NC went home to be with our Lord on March 25, 2022.
He was born in November of 1948, to Hazel Perry Minton and Marvin Ellis Minton of Kitty Hawk.
Rodney is survived by his wife and soulmate, Kimberly P. Minton, of the home. They were together 41-years, married 36 of those.
Rodney and Kim owned a real estate and construction firm, Roanoke Homes, and in 1992, started Bins Disposal Service, Inc. Rod loved to be a hands-on part of the Bins business, caring for it and growing it into a successful ongoing business with a 30-year history.
Also, surviving are two sons, Michael Derek Minton of Kitty Hawk and Jason A. Minton of Corolla; one brother, Charles E. Minton (D’Andrea) of Manteo; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Laura Minton Davies; his sister, Cassandra Minton Nixon; his brother, Marvin Ellis Minton, Jr.; and his parents, Marvin and Hazel Minton.
Rod loved fishing and being out in nature, especially helping Kim with their garden and greenhouse. He enjoyed spending time with family and sharing their lives. His kind and generous heart will be much missed.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Austin Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Twiford Colony Chapel.
