HATTERAS — Sara Lee Styron, “Secky,” 74, passed on November 7, 2022, at her home in Hatteras, NC. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia on April 19, 1948. Sara is predeceased by her parents, Otis and Mary Styron, and her sister Catherine Styron Bulman. She leaves behind her sister Judy Styron of Colorado as well as family and friends too numerous to mention, and her beloved dog “Weezy.”
Secky loved her home and Hatteras Island family where she lived and worked for over 50 years. A familiar face in local restaurants, Atlantic View, Channel Bass, and Sonny’s, those who met her were unlikely to forget her amazing wit and humor. She loved to make others laugh.
In keeping with Secky’s wishes, there will be no formal service at this time. An informal celebration of life will be held at a later time.
Secky loved her flowers, feeding the birds on her deck, and walking on the beach with her dog. In her honor, she would want others to enjoy the beauty and peace she so appreciated here.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation, Adoration Hospice, or the Cape Hatteras United Methodist Men.
