MANTEO — Sarah Dee Scarborough Wise, 63, of Manteo, NC died Monday, March 20, 2023, at her home.
Born in Baltimore, MD on July 27, 1959, Sarah Dee was a faithful servant of the Lord and loving mother, daughter and wife. She joyfully served in many different areas of Mt. Olivet, including with children, music, hospitality and caregiving. She served on the worship committee and altar guild with great enthusiasm to decorate the house of the Lord.
A graduate of Elizabeth City State University, Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in English.
She inherited a love for fine art from her mother Sally, and she called herself a souvenir painter and took great joy in knowing her art would bless the homes of visitors to the Outer Banks.
Sarah is survived by her parents Phil and Sally Scarborough, husband, Harold Lee Wise; daughter, Ruth Stetson Dobrosky (Matt); son, Stephen Stetson (Katelyn); three grandchildren, Declan, Alistair, and Talia; and brother, Fields Scarborough, Sr. (Rebecca) as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church with Rev. Marc O’Neal and Rev. Kenny Midgett officiating. Private burial will take place in Manteo Cemetery.
