COLINGTON — Susan Renee Belvin, 60, transitioned from this world naturally at her Colington home May 14, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband Rick Belvin, and by her daughter, Destiney Akers- both formerly of Colington.
Renee, as she was best known, was born and raised in Portsmouth, VA although she considered Colington home since her arrival in 2003. Family was Renee’s passion and over the years she become a beloved “neighborhood mom” to local children of all ages.
Renee is survived by her mother Brenda Mitchussion of Henderson, Nevada; one daughter, Amber Shannon of Hampton, VA; her daughter Destiney’s father, Dallas Griffith of the Colington residence; two brothers, John Gilbert of New Bern, NC and Steven Gilbert of Chesapeake, VA; one sister, Dawn Gilbert of Indianapolis, IN; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and dear friends.
The family will host a celebration of Renee’s life at her home Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 6 pm to 9 pm. Friends may also call 252-599-3815 to pay their respects.
