SALVO and GLEN ALLEN, VA — Sylvia Allison Hamilton (aka Aloha Darlin’) (80) peacefully crossed over the bar to calmer waters at 1038 hours on 26 October 2021. She was born 14 September 1941 in Statesville NC to the late Curtis Taylor Allison and Mary Edna (Hartsell) Allison.
She is survived by her husband (and High School sweetheart) of 58 years, CAPT Ted Allen Hamilton USN (RET) (aka Salvo Jimmy), their daughter Malia Hamilton Rinaldi (Scott) and grandchildren Luca and Giada.
The family has owned a cottage in Salvo NC for 50 years that was built by the family with the help of Burgess and Johnny Hooper and Larry Midgett. Larry’s name was visible for many years carved into the top of the septic tank until the Hatteras weather took its toll. Sylvia cherished her many times there, particularly putting on a Thanksgiving spread for family and friends for many years. Not to mention chasin’ down the blues on Thanksgiving morning.
The Cremation Society of Virginia is handling the arrangements. A wake will be scheduled at a time/place TBD.
