KILL DEVIL HILLS — Toni Irene West, 67, of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina passed away peacefully on August 15, 2020. Some people only walk this earth for short time, and her departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. Toni was born in the District of Columbia on March 9, 1953. She is the daughter of the late Amelia A. Nicholson.
Toni is survived by a son, Neil A. Kavades and daughters, Elizabeth A. Cubler and Michele R. Godsey (Richard), five grandchildren, Antoinette Kavades, Blake and David Cubler, Kaitlyn and Madison Godsey. Toni is also survived by brother George F. Jarboe (Ramona) and her beloved four-legged buddy, Kaboose, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and close friends.
She was greeted in heaven by her soulmate and husband, Robert B. West.
Family and friends were Toni’s passion and happiness. She loved spending the Christmas season surrounded by her family. She enjoyed spending time in the sun at the beach, shopping, gardening, crafting, making pancakes at sleepovers with her grandchildren and just being surrounded by her family.
The family will celebrate her life privately at a later date.
