3rd Annual Ocracoke Island Waterfowl Festival
April 17, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT
The 3rd Annual Ocracoke Waterfowl Festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 17th on the Berkley Manor property.
The event is presented by the non-profit Ocracoke Island Decoy Carvers Guild which formed in early 2018 to preserve the art of decoy carving in Ocracoke history. Carvers and collectors will experience exhibits including carvings of redheads, ruddy ducks, blue bills, swans, geese, shorebirds and more, along with artwork and artifacts related to North Carolina’s rich waterfowl tradition. There will be T-shirts and posters from the festival on sale along with raffles.
The mission of the Ocracoke Decoy Carvers Guild is to preserve, promote and carry on our waterfowl carving heritage which has been an important part of our island culture. It is our goal to continue the craft of hand carving decoys so our future generations may enjoy the same and that it will not be a lost.
