Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County’s Rootle Roadster Tour set for March 8
March 8 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm EST

Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County (CYP) is thrilled to announce an upcoming partnership with Rootle PBS Kids and PBS North Carolina to bring the Rootle Roadster Tour to Hatteras Island on Saturday, March 8, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the gym of Cape Hatteras Secondary School.
The Rootle Roadster Tour is an interactive program designed to support early childhood education for ages 0–8. At this event, families can enjoy free activities such as STEM experiments, literacy games and social-emotional learning exercises—all designed to be both fun and educational.
“PBS North Carolina is so excited to bring educational fun to families across North Carolina through the Rootle Roadster Tour,” said Jewel Lowe, Engagement Program Manager at PBS North Carolina. “Our collaboration with statewide and community partners who understand the importance of early childhood education is key to the program’s success. We’re deeply grateful to them and the generous support of NC 529 and the NC Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Child Development and Early Education.”
Local organizations and community partners will also be on-hand to offer additional resources and fun activities for families, such as arts and crafts, block play, Pop-up basketball, sensory play, and more. Local community partners for this event include Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County (CYP), the Fessenden Center, Dare County Department of Social Services, Outer Banks Buddies, Hatteras Island Ocean Center, Dare County Library, the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island, Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative, Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, and One Community.
