You can send your news of special events, workshops, meetings, etc. on Hatteras and Ocracoke islands to donna@islandfreepress.org. Please send as a document or plain text in press release format. Please do not send only PDFs of posters or other announcements. You can send these for illustration, but we need text. We must receive your announcement at least one week before the event.

Hatteras United Methodist Church Fishy 5k set for Sept.14

Pick up registration form at Hatteras United Methodist Church Office:
11 to 3 M –F before Labor Day and 9 to 1 after Labor Day
Call or text Linda (252-475-4390) or Stephanie Tenpenny 252-423-6130 to register.
- fee of $30 – Please register ASAP or call to commit to walk/run (Pay at the door)
- Strollers welcome, please, no pets.
- In case of cancellation, there is no refund, but you will receive your t-shirt if possible.
Early Packet Pick up: Friday – Sept. 13 – 12 to 1 or 5:30 to 6:30 at Hatteras United Methodist Church
Doors open at 7 am on Sat. Sept. 14 for final registration.
No registrations are allowed after 7:45. The race starts at 8 a.m.
- Non-refundable charity event. Race is rain or shine but will be canceled for safety reasons in event of severe weather. In event of a cancellation, t-shirts if available, will be given to those who registered.
This is your chance to exercise in a fun way. Challenge your friends and family to join you and support your church and community as you meet your goal.
- We support MISSIONS of the HUMC such as free meals in the winter, HUMC Community Preschool, Hatteras Island Angel Gift Christmas Program, Day at the Dock Celebration, and Supplies for Costa Rica Mission trip.
