Island Community Invited to Breakfast with Santa and Free Holiday Shopping Spree
December 21, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am EST
Hatteras Island’s youngest community members are invited to a special breakfast with Santa Claus himself followed by a free holiday shopping spree this Saturday, December 21, at the Salvo Fire Station.
The full-morning event kicks off with breakfast at 8 a.m., and Santa will arrive at 9 a.m. to hear last-minute Christmas wishes and to take photos until 10 a.m.
Following the breakfast, children will be invited to peruse a pop-up shop that will begin at 9 a.m. and run until 11 a.m. At the makeshift holiday shop, Children 12 and under can come through and select presents for immediate family members for free, and will then get a little help wrapping their newly acquired gifts from on-site volunteers.
“The idea is that kids will be able to come through and pick presents for everyone in their family, and then we’ll have people there to help them wrap the presents,” said organizer and UMC Fair Haven Pastor Tim Fitch. “So they [will have a] whole ability to Christmas shop on their own!”
Parents will be able to register their child for the pop-up shop beforehand, and a volunteer will help assist the child with shopping and wrapping their gifts when their name is called.
The breakfast and shopping spree is open to the public, and is free for all attendees.
Saturday’s event is put together and sponsored by the UMC Fair Haven, Clarks Bethel, Fathers Tabernacle and Station 48/50 in the Tri-villages.
