LWV April Luncheon Presents “Your Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce”

Dare LWV is proud to spotlight Karen Brown, President and CEO of the OBX Chamber, on May 12th at 3 Tequilas restaurant, 804 S. Croatan Highway in Kill Devil Hills. The program will begin at 11:30 a.m. The luncheon will be buffet style and a set price will be collected by LWV as the diners enter the dining room. Born and bred a “Jersey Girl”, Karen, who has an MBA degree, accepted an executive management position with the Bonita Springs, Florida Chamber of Commerce in 2000 after working in healthcare insurance for a number of years. In 2007, she moved to Zebulon, Georgia to take on a dual role as President/CEO of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Director of the Development Authority of Pike County. Five years later she accepted her present position, President and CEO of the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce. Under her leadership in 2016 the organization was named Outstanding Chamber of the Year by the Carolina Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. In 2018, Karen was named Chamber Executive of the Year for North Carolina.
As a member of the Chamber, Dare League attendees will hear a talk focused on one of the Chamber’s stated goals: providing opportunities for the membership to be successful in their businesses and organizations. Join us to hear from this outstanding member of our community.
