Priority Pass Renewal Dates Set for Ocracoke Residents
Ocracoke Island residents will need to reapply on February 5 through February 7 for an updated 2019 and 2020 priority pass for the Hatteras / Ocracoke ferry.
Permanent residents of Ocracoke Island can apply for a free priority pass to display on their driver-side windshield, however, applicants must apply in person at the Ocracoke Silver Lake Terminal at 130 Pilot Town Circle.
The dates for Ocracoke residents are determined alphabetically, and are as follows:
- February 5 – Residents with last names A to H can renew their sticker from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- February 6 – Residents with last names I to P can renew their sticker from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- February 7 – Residents with last names Q to Z can renew their sticker from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
A valid driver license and a vehicle registration card – both with an Ocracoke Island address – are required to obtain a priority pass.
Businesses that provide commercial services to Ocracoke Island more than twice a week can also apply for a vendor priority pass that is valid only for the Hatteras-Ocracoke ferry route. Passes are issued at the beginning of each year on an as-needed basis, and applications can be obtained online at https://www.ncdot.gov/travel-maps/ferry-tickets-services/Pages/priority-pass.aspx.
