Hatteras-Ocracoke ferry route extended for Easter holidays

The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division will be beefing up the schedule on its popular Hatteras-Ocracoke route for two weeks beginning Tuesday, March 2, in order to accommodate travelers over the Easter holidays.

The schedule will expand from 18 to 26 daily departures from both Hatteras and Ocracoke between March 22-April 4.

On April 5, the route will return to its regular off-season schedule until resuming a full summer schedule — 36 daily departures from each side — on May 3.
