Lycett Named Social Services Director for Dare County

Chuck Lycett has been named Dare County’s new Social Services Director, according to Health and Human Services Director Jay Burrus.

Lycett, who has 14 years of experience in social services, will begin his new role with the department on Monday, March 27. He currently serves as Social Work Supervisor with the department and has previously worked as an investigative/assessment and treatment worker and a foster care worker.

“Chuck is an outstanding leader and I am confident in his ability to guide the Division into the future,” said Health and Human Services Director Jay Burrus.

Lycett holds a BA in Sociology and Criminal Justice from the University of Richmond and a Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Lycett said that he looks forward to further developing his working relationships with the staff as they work to meet future challenges.
