DMV will bring new portable mobile unit to Hatteras, Ocracoke
For two days each month, beginning Wednesday and Thursday, April 20-21, the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will bring its new SUV-style portable mobile unit to the Hatteras Civic Center, located at 1498 Highway 12.
The new compact mobile office will enable DMV to offer services inside the building and out of the weather.
The new unit will visit Hatteras on the third Wednesday and Thursday each month and will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday. It brings up-to-date equipment and convenient one-stop driver license and ID card service to the new location.
In addition to the Hatteras monthly stops, DMV will also bring the mobile unit to Ocracoke one day a quarter, beginning Friday, April 22. It will be located at the Community Center on Irvin Garrish Highway.
Driver license renewal services are also available for many drivers online at www.ncdot.gov/dmv.
