Hatteras Library will be closed July 9-22
The Hatteras Library, located in the Community Building in Hatteras village, will be closed from Thursday, July 9, through and including Wednesday, July 22.
Last winter the Hatteras Library relocated to temporary quarters in the meeting room of the Hatteras Community Building so that heating and air conditioning repairs and electrical repairs could be completed on the library side of the building. This closure is necessary so we can move library operations and materials back into the library space in the front of the building.
Children’s programs and summer reading programs will take place as scheduled on Thursday July 9 and July 16 in the Fellowship Hall at the Hatteras United Methodist Church, two doors down from the Hatteras Library and Hatteras Community Building. Children’s books will be available for borrowing at these programs.
Hatteras Library customers are invited to come in and stock up on extra books and other library materials before July 9. Please note that no fines will be charged on any materials borrowed from the Hatteras Library for the days the library will be closed. While the library is , customers can continue to return materials to the book drop on the library’s front porch and also at the Fessenden Center in Buxton.
The last day open to the public will be July 8 with regular hours of 1 until 7 p.m. Persons needing assistance with their online accounts or databases or wanting to request library materials are asked to call the Manteo Library at 252-473-2372 during the time that the Hatteras Library is closed.
