The Coast Guard and a good Samaritan boater transferred one injured mariner and four other people Monday, July 11,  after their boat ran aground near Ocracoke Inlet.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Hatteras Inlet received a call for assistance at approximately 5:50 p.m. from the 24-foot pleasure craft Miss Virginia.

A 24-foot Response Boat-Small crew from Station Ocracoke Inlet launched at 6:10 p.m. A good Samaritan also responded and took aboard two adults and three children from the grounded vessel. The five survivors were then transferred to the Coast Guard RBS.
