Coast Guard and Marine Patrol Rescue Three Passengers and Dog from Capsized Vessel
On Wednesday afternoon at approximately 4:00 p.m., the U.S. Coast Guard Station Oregon Inlet responded to a call received by Coast Guard Sector North Carolina regarding three people whose vessel had just capsized in the Pamlico Sound.
The station immediately launched the 24536 SPC-SW (Special Purpose Craft-Shallow Water) to assist the vessel, and North Carolina Marine Patrol Officer Jeff Moore launched his shallow water skiff to respond to the call as well.
Upon arriving at the scene of the capsized vessel, Marine Patrol quickly recovered all three survivors and their dog. The three people and the dog were brought back to Station Oregon Inlet, and were all in good condition with no injuries reported.
