10 of Dare County’s 44 COVID-19 cases are active, per Friday update
Per a Friday afternoon update, the number of positive COVID-19 tests in Dare County is 44, 10 of which are considered active. (Nine are residents and one is a non-resident).
Since the last Dare County DHHS Update issued, on Tuesday, June 16, there have been two new positive cases. The Dare County website has already been updated to reflect all of these cases.
Both of the new cases are non-residents and females aged 18-24. One is symptomatic and returned to their county of permanent residence. This individual acquired the virus from direct contact with a non-resident who was reported last week as being positive. The second positive case is asymptomatic. and is isolating in Dare County. The individual acquired the virus from direct contact when outside of the county.
Additional updates from the county are as follows:
Follow the 3Ws
We continue to see asymptomatic spread of COVID-19. Please do your part to slow the spread of the viru by following the 3Ws – – wear, wait and wash.
- Wear a cloth face covering if you will be with other people.
- Wait 6 feet apart. Avoid close contact.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer
There are individuals who have legitimate medical reasons and are not able to wear a face covering. We all need to be kind, show compassion and understanding.
