Rodanthe resident’s wedding photo is a winner
Melinda Baker of Rodanthe was named a winner in the 2011 Outer Banks Photo Contest, sponsored by Outer Banks–based Village Realty.
Baker’s photo won the top prize in the “I Do” category. The photo her sister and her husband on the beach at the Rodanthe pier following their June 18, 2011, wedding.
As winner in this category, Baker wins a two-night off-season stay at First Colony Inn B&B in Nags Head.
The Village Realty judges fell in love with the photo, saying, “The OBX is a very popular place for weddings and no wonder. The ocean, the sun, the gentle breezes and the background are the perfect setting. Melinda took a great shot of this couple at the pier.”
More than 2,700 photos were submitted in the annual contest.
