Dare County releases holiday trash schedule

Dare County has released information on the trash pickup schedule for the 2016 Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

The Dare County Recycling Center, located on Driftwood Drive, Manteo, will be closed on Friday, Dec. 23, Saturday, Dec. 24, Monday, Dec 26th, and Tuesday, Dec. 27.  The Transfer Station located on Highway 264 West in Manns Harbor and the one located in Buxton will be closed on Friday, Dec. 23, Saturday, Dec. 24, and Monday,  Dec. 26.

The week before and the week after Christmas trash collection will be as follows:

Week of Dec. 18 – 24

Monday, Dec. 19 :  Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras
Tuesday, Dec. 20 :  Manteo, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon
Wednesday, Dec.. 21: Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras
Thursday, Dec. 22: Manteo, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon
Friday, Dec. 23: Closed. No trash collection

Week of Dec. 25 – 31

Monday, Dec. 26: Closed.  No trash collection.
Tuesday, Dec. 27: Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras
Wednesday, Dec. 28,: Manteo, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon
Thursday, Dec. 29: Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras
Friday, Dec. 30: Manteo, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon

New Year’s schedule
