DMV, county court clerk announce Hatteras services
The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles’ mobile will make a three-day stay on Hatteras Island. Also, the Dare County Clerk of Court has changed its Hatteras on-site services.
The DOT Division of Motor Vehicles will have a special December schedule for the mobile unit’s visit to the island to provide driver’s license services. The unit will arrive on Dec. 17 and stay through Dec. 19. The unit will be parked at the Hatteras Village Civic Center.
The schedule is:
Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1 -5 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 18, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 19, 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
NCDMV mobile units offer driver license services to rural areas across the state. The units administer sign tests, written tests and road tests to qualify applicants for a North Carolina driver license. They also issue North Carolina identification cards.
Also, the Dare County Clerk of Court has changed the day it will offer services from the Dare County Office Building at 50347 NC Highway 12 in Frisco, across the street from the EMS Station.
Beginning the week of Dec.16, the Clerk of Court Office on Hatteras Island will open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. The office will not be open on Thursdays as previously announced.
The office is fully functional and able to handle all Clerk of Court services, including magisterial duties. The Hatteras Island Clerk of Court Office can be contacted at252- 475-9360.
