6 additional COVID-19 cases reported on Tuesday, bringing Dare County total to 459

Dare County announced 6 additional positive COVID-19 test results on Tuesday, September 1, bringing the total number of cases in the county since the pandemic began to 459.

The 6 additional cases consist of 2 residents and 4 non-residents, and include the following:

1) non-resident, 25-49, male, transferred isolation
2) non-resident, 25-49, male, transferred isolation
3) non-resident, 50-64, male, transferred isolation
4) non-resident, 25-49, female, transferred isolation
5) resident, 25-49, male, home isolation
6) resident, 65 over, female, home isolation

Per the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, (which was last updated Tuesday morning), at least 47 of 243 resident cases are from Hatteras Island. This includes 11 cases in Avon, 28 cases in Buxton, and 8 cases in Frisco.
