75% of Hyde County Residents 65 and Older Have Received First Vaccine, per Weekly Update
The Hyde County Health Dept. released the following update for Friday, February 26, which provides information on the current COVID-19 case count, and how individuals on the mainland and on Ocracoke Island can schedule an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine.
Today, the COVID-19 counts are as follows:
- Active Cases 8
- Recovered Cases 623
- Deaths 8
- TOTAL COUNT 639
Vaccine administration breakdown is as follows:
First Doses – Percentage of Population (which is 5,200*)
- 25% White
- 17% Black & other
- 75% to people 65 years old and greater
- 17% to people 50-64 years old (healthcare workers, first responders, teachers, childcare)
- 9% to people 25-49 years old (healthcare workers, first responders, teachers, childcare)
- 39% suppressed
Second Doses – Percentage of Population
- 15% White
- 9% Black & other
- 38% to people 65 years old and greater
- 9% to people 50-64 years old (healthcare workers, first responders, teachers, childcare)
- 8% to people 25-49 years old (healthcare workers, first responders, teachers, childcare)
- 31% suppressed
COVID-19 cases are on the decline. People should continue to practice the 3 Ws and get their COVID vaccination as soon as they are eligible. Effective March 10, 2021, if you are a Frontline Essential Worker, you are eligible for the vaccine too.
