All Hatteras-Ocracoke vehicle ferry operations resume service after Tropical Storm Idalia
The Hatteras-Ocracoke ferry, Ocracoke-Cedar Island ferry, and Ocracoke-Swan Quarter ferry resumed regular operations on Friday morning, September 1, per an update from the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division. (The Ocracoke Express passenger ferry operations remain suspended.)
Ferry service was suspended starting on Wednesday due to high winds and hazardous weather conditions stemming from Tropical Storm Idalia.
The ferry schedule for Hatteras-Ocracoke has been amended for Friday, and is as follows:
- From Hatteras: 11 a.m., noon, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7:30, 9, 10 and midnight.
- From Ocracoke: 11:30 a.m., 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, 5:30, 6:15, 7:30, 8:45, 10:30 and midnight.
