Brief power outage scheduled for Tuesday morning, April 5, in Avon and the Tri-villages
Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperation (CHEC) will require a planned power outage in Avon and the Tri-villages on Tuesday, April 5, in order to work on several transmission maintenance items.
The power outage scheduled for Tuesday is as follows:
- Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, and Avon will experience a 5-minute outage at 7:15 a.m. There will also be a brief outage after the work is complete.
Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands will be served by limited diesel generators during this planned maintenance. If load exceeds the generator’s capacity, the islands will experience power outages. CHEC requests that the public make reasonable efforts to conserve electricity use on Tuesday.
