CHSS carpentry classes to auction newly-completed shed
The carpentry classes at Cape Hatteras Secondary School have completed their annual shed project, and the shed will now be auctioned off to the public by sealed bid.
Bids will be received from March 9 to May 2, 2022. The shed is located in the school parking lot adjacent to N.C. Highway 12 and the school tennis courts.
The shed was dedicated to the memory of the late Elvin Hooper of Buxton, long-time CHSS carpentry teacher and native of Hatteras Island. The door of the shed is adorned with a custom barn quilt from the CHSS Barn Quilt Project, a joint educational project between the CHSS carpentry classes and the CHSS art classes. If you are interested in placing a bid, you may pick up a bid sheet at the shed, or you may contact carpentry teacher Keith Durham at durhamke@daretolearn.org.
