Coast Guard releases video on rip current safety

Share post:

The Coast Guard is providing recorded video statements, readiness tips, and rescue footage in preparation for the upcoming 2020 tourist, beach, and boating season.

Ahead of this year’s season, the Coast Guard is sharing important, life-saving information to help build public awareness and education on rip currents, including what to do when caught in one.

Rip currents are synonymous with beach seasons everywhere in the United States, and knowing what they are, where they can occur, and how to swim out of one will be the focal points of these informational productions. Throughout June, we will be promoting safety messages and guidelines for people regarding rip currents throughout our social media. Follow us on Facebook at U.S. Coast Guard Mid-Atlantic and on Twitter: @uscgmidatlantic.
