Dare County announces New Year’s Day 2025 closures
All Dare County offices and facilities will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 in observance of New Year’s Day.
These closures include the Dare County C&D Landfill in Manns Harbor, the Buxton Transfer Station and the Manteo Recycle Yard, which will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 and will reopen and operate with regularly scheduled hours on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
In addition, Dare County Public Works has announced that there are no changes to residential trash collection for the week of Monday, December 30, 2024 through Friday, January 3, 2025.
Commercial dumpster collection for the unincorporated areas of Dare County and the Town of Kitty Hawk will take place on Monday, December 30, 2024 and Friday, January 3, 2025.
The Dare County Public Works Department only provides trash collection for the Town of Kitty Hawk and the unincorporated areas of Dare County. Unincorporated Dare County does not include areas within a town’s limits.
