Dare County COVID-19 Case Count up to 49, per Sunday update
Dare County announced three new positive COVID-19 test results on Sunday afternoon, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 49.
The three new cases are all non-residents who have transferred to their home counties, and who are recovering in isolation. The cases include a male in the 25-49 age range, a male in 50-64 age range, and a male in the 18-24 age range.
There have been a total of 27 resident COVID-19 cases and 22 non-resident cases since the first case was identified in Dare County in March.
New positive cases are updated on the dashboard of the Dare County website and are shared on the DHHS Facebook page when information is received. Dare County officials met on Friday afternoon and updated the Emergency Declaration for COVID-19 to include a mandate that face coverings be worn in indoor and outdoor public spaces where social distancing cannot be maintained.
