Dare County provides info on COVID-19 testing, and confirms 22 cases, in Thursday’s video update
In the latest Thursday video update from Dare County, Health and Human Services Director Dr. Sheila Davies noted that the county currently has a total of 22 COVID-19 cases. Of those, 17 have recovered or are asymptomatic, 1 has passed away, and four are currently active.
Dr. Sheila Davies also provided more information on county and statewide testing efforts in the video update.
“At the state level, North Carolina is pushing for increased testing. NC DHHS has a testing task force that is working on some strategic partnerships to further increase testing availability. We have inquired several times about providing opportunities for free or mass testing in Dare County but have been informed at this time all of the sites have already been selected. In the absence of available federal or state assistance at this time, we have been working to find alternative opportunities. I expect to be able to share more information on a local initiative for COVID-19 drive-thru testing by next week,” stated Davies in the video update.
