Dare County Public Works announces trash collection schedule changes due to inclement weather

The Dare County Public Works Department has announced that residential trash collection for the villages of Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras on Monday, March 11, 2024, has been canceled due to inclement weather.

An updated trash collection schedule for the week of Monday, March 11, 2024, through Friday, March 15, 2024, has been announced for Hatteras Island and is as follows.

• Monday, March 11, 2024:
  Canceled for Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras due to inclement weather.
• Tuesday, March 12, 2024:
  Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras
• Wednesday, March 13, 2024:
  Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, and Avon
• Thursday, March 14, 2024:
  Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras
• Friday, March 15, 2024:
  Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, and Avon

*Please note that trash collection changes are only in effect for the southern routes on Hatteras Island. There are no changes to trash collection for Dare County Public Works’ northern routes.
