Four Dare County Commissioners Sworn in for Another Term
Four Dare County commissioners were sworn in to serve another four-year term at the Board of Commissioners meeting held on Dec. 7, 2020.
At the meeting, which was the first to be held following the General Election in November, sitting commissioners Robert L. “Bob” Woodard, Wally Overman, Danny Couch and Steve House took the oath of office.
Following the swearing in of the four commissioners, the board unanimously voted to elect Woodard to continue serving in his role as the chairman of the board, and Overman was elected to continue serving as vice chairman. The election of chairman and vice chairman occurs annually at the first meeting in December

The Dare County Board of Commissioners generally meets on the first and third Monday of each month. Due to COVID-19, these meetings are currently not open to the public.
However, each meeting is livestreamed on Dare County’s YouTube channel and Charter Spectrum Channel 191.
