Frisco Volunteer Fire Department hosting benefit to honor one their own
The Frisco Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) will be hosting a Benefit Fundraiser to support and honor one of their own on Friday, July 9, and the public is welcome to come and enjoy a BBQ pig roast, hot dogs, beverages, and more.
The event will feature a silent auction and the chance to win some stellar prizes, including multiple inshore fishing trips and a 50/50 raffle.
The Benefit Fundraiser is in honor of Frisco VFD Chief Richard Marlin who, after 38 years of dedication and service, will be stepping down due to health issues.
Chief Marlin is well known in the local community for his tireless work and assistance before, during, and after storms and hurricanes. Working alongside the Frisco VFD and the Hatteras Island Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Chief Marlin has always made sure the island was prepared for what was to come, and helped with the aftermath.
“If you know Richard, then you already know how much he has done to help the Frisco VFD and Hatteras Island,” said Frisco VFD Chief Dave Davidson. “This event is the least we can do to show our appreciation and gratitude.”
The Benefit/Fundraiser will be held at the Frisco VFD Firehouse at 52470 N.C. Highway 12 on July 9, and festivities kick off at 10:00 a.m.
All proceeds will go to help Chief Marlin, and island residents and visitors alike are welcome to come out during the event to show their appreciation for one of Hatteras Island VFDs’ most respected members.
