Heat Advisory in effect for the Outer Banks
Hot and humid weather will continue on Monday, as temperatures rise into the mid to upper 90s along the Outer Banks and eastern North Carolina, per an update from the National Weather Service Newport / Morehead City office.
A Heat Advisory has been issued for all of Eastern N.C., including the Outer Banks, for heat index values of 105-109 on Monday afternoon and evening.
On Sunday afternoon, 90-degree temperatures and a heat index of 102 degrees was reported in Frisco.
