Lady Canes Lose to Riverside in First Round of Playoffs

Despite a big team effort, the Cape Hatteras Lady Canes varsity basketball team lost Tuesday’s home playoff game against Riverside of Williamston, N.C., by a score of 54-37.

The February 23 game was the first round of the 2021 Women’s Basketball Championships – 1A tournament, and Riverside will go on to play first-round victor East Carteret on Thursday.

Freshman #2 Kylie Phillips led the team in scoring for the Lady Canes on Tuesday with 12 points, and was also selected as the Cape Hatteras player of the game.

The Lady Canes wrap up the 2020/2021 with a winning record of 6-4, and a #1 standing in the Atlantic 6 1A Conference.
