Living Shorelines Open House Goes Online
Property owners experiencing shoreline erosion can sign up for a virtual living shoreline open house to learn how to use the technique that protects soundside shores and preserves natural ecosystems.
The North Carolina Coastal Federation is hosting the online open house from 10-11 a.m. July 8. Participants will need to register to join with Zoom.
During the open house, area professionals and contractors will be on hand to share information and answer questions on how to build a living shoreline.
Benefits of living shorelines include reduced erosion, maintained natural marsh, protected coastal habitat, filtered and improved water quality and buffered shore for changing water levels.
