NC Baptist Men close disaster site at Hatteras; Will continue in Ocracoke until October 12
The NC Baptist Men and Women Disaster Relief Ministry has closed their disaster site in Hatteras village, however feeding and assistance will continue in Ocracoke village for two more weeks, per a recent update from the organization.
The Disaster Relief Ministry has been on the islands since shortly after Dorian made landfall on September 6, and has been instrumental in providing meals and labor for recovery work in the weeks that followed.
“Laundry and shower, admin and other support will also continue on Ocracoke until October 12,” stated the NC Baptist Men and Women Disaster Relief Ministry in a September 28 update. “We should finish all recovery work (mud outs, tear outs and chainsaw jobs) within the next few days. Thank you all volunteers!”
