3:30 p.m. UPDATE: The Hatteras-Ocracoke vehicle ferry is now on a limited schedule due to high wind conditions. If you’re headed that way, give the terminal a call at 252-996-6000 for more details.

Ocracoke to Cedar Island and Ocracoke to Swan Quarter ferries have been canceled for Thursday, September 29, due to the inclement weather from Hurricane Ian, per an update from the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division.

The Hatteras-Ocracoke vehicular ferry is still on schedule as of 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, but ferry service may be impacted over the next several days, depending on the weather.

Visitors who are traveling to Ocracoke Island this weekend are advised to go to ncferry.org and scroll down to ‘Current Conditions’ to see up-to-date information on a specific ferry route.

In addition, the public can see updates on all three Ocracoke Island routes via the Ferry Division’s Twitter accounts at https://twitter.com/NCFerryHatteras/ and https://twitter.com/ncferrypamsound/, or by calling 252-996-6000 for more information.
