Ocracoke’s COVID-19 Testing Event has been cancelled due to staffing issues
The Hyde County Health Department reported on Wednesday that the mass testing event for COVID-19 scheduled for Thursday, July 30, on Ocracoke Island has been cancelled.
MakoMedical Laboratories, Inc. contacted the Health Department on Wednesday to report that Mako had a staffing issue for the event, and therefore the event could not proceed.
At this time, a make-up date is being negotiated. As soon as that date and plans are finalized, a press release will be issued informing the public of the new mass testing event date, time, and location.
“Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience,” stated the Hyde County Health Department in a press release. “Unfortunately, this situation is beyond Health Department control. Stay tuned for more information, and as always, the Hyde County Health Department remains available to the public to answer questions and provide education. We can be reached at 926-4399 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.”
