Two Brief Power Outages Planned for Monday

On Monday, March 25, Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative (CHEC) will require two planned outages while crews work to disconnect our transmission cables on the old Bonner Bridge so demolition can begin. Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands will be served by limited diesel generators during this time.

The outage is slated for the following locations and times:

Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo & Avon will experience the following outages:

  • 30 minute outage at 8:00 a.m.
  • 5 minute outage at 2:00 p.m.

Hatteras & Ocracoke Islands will be served by limited diesel generators during this time.

Please make reasonable efforts to conserve electric use.
