Two temporary lane closures on N.C. Highway 12 begin May 17
Beginning on Tuesday, May 17, there will be two work zones on N.C. Highway 12 that will require temporary lane closures, per an update from the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
The first lane closure, on the Marc Basnight Bridge, will be to install permanent navigation lights on the bridge structure, and the closure should last two days.
The second lane closure will be around the Pea Island Visitor Center so crews can rebuild the dune line lost in last week’s storm, and this closure will likely be in place by the end of the week.
The highway will remain open, with traffic directed through one lane, although short delays are expected. Please allow for extra travel time as needed.
